Eugene "Gene" Hosick Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Eugene “Gene” Hosick, age 78, of West Frankfort, IL, passed away peacefully at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at home in West Frankfort, IL. He was born on Wednesday, January 12, 1938, in Benton, IL the son of Henry Lee and Irene (McKnight) Hosick. Gene grew up and attended school in Benton, IL and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a factory worker and worked in Florida for a while and in Illinois for the Crown Line Boat, Mark Twain and the Maria Boat Factories. Gene was united in marriage to Martha Virginia Boswell on Thursday, June 26, 1969, in Wayne City, IL and together they have shared forty seven years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Hosick of West Frankfort; two sons, Larry Hosick, Sr. and wife Charlene of Columbia TN and Jesse Hosick of West Frankfort; six grandchildren, Larry, Jr., Karl and Tiffany Hosick, Todd and Dale Baker and Jennifer Baud; thirteen great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and eleven siblings. Arrangements for Eugene “Gene” Hosick have been entrusted to Stone Funeral Home, 1201 East Poplar St., in West Frankfort, IL. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, in West Frankfort Community Park in West Frankfort, IL. Those wishing to attend the memorial service should gather at the park prior to 2:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at a later date in Columbia TN.
